My friend Björn, founder and designer of the label Double Stitched, recently opened his first little pop-up in “De Nieuwe Gaanderij”. As the city of Antwerp makes an effort to support new designers, so do I.

I have the feeling I’m repeating myself here… but I find it very important to spend my money well on clothes and accessories. Of course I’m a big fan of chain stores, it gives us the possibility to buy something new once in a while without immediately consuming 50% of our income. But it’s good to mix and match, I think supporting young creatives is very important for the future of our economy and society. The Double Stitched bags for example are all made in ateliers in Belgium, Italy or Spain by craftsmen who are passionate about their job. The price might be a bit higher but at least you’re wearing an accessory that’s made by hand, with love and from a high quality leather.

So when you’re in Antwerp, pass by this cute little pop-up shop, go touch the wonderful leather accessories and say hi from me
