As a die-hard denim (or sweatpants, whatever pants) lover it was though to say goodbye to my good old jeans for a moment and to become the feminine version of myself. Because as you do (or don’t) know, I hardly ever wear skirts or dresses. This Cos item however seemed like my thing: not too short, classy, a higher waist and not too tight. Wearing this skirt definitely made me feel different, it was as if all of a sudden I became a woman instead of a tomboy.

When I finally started to feel comfy in my outfit I asked my buddy Karim (who was taking the pictures) how he thought about this combination. And he honestly replied that he prefers shorter skirts… Ah well, I very much appreciated his answer because that’s his opinion. But it made me realize that my style is a part of who I am and that I’ll never ever change that for anyone. Please slap me in the face if I do!

If that sounded like the typical feminist talk, good! The Patricia Arquette speech about equal rights at the Oscars yesterday inspired me…
