If you ever wondered where I get all my clothes from, here’s the truth about my wardrobe 😉 I can’t read my blog as an outsider but I did my very best to take a look at all my outfits with an ‘innocent’ eye. While watching myself two thoughts popped up in my mind: I have to make loads of money to be able to afford everything or someone must love me very much and likes to give me presents. Unfortunately none of these are true… What I wear on my blog is a mix of my own clothes, some pieces I get from brands and others I borrow in shops or showrooms.

Before you think this entire blog is one big lie I must tell you that everything I wear and post is 100% my own style. But I’m shooting at least two outfits a week, if I would have to buy all these clothes I would be broke and probably not able to afford food. And I refuse to only wear clothes from chain stores even though I really do like Zara and H&M. Besides that, how many things can you probably hang in a wardrobe? Mine already occupies an entire room in my apartment and still looks like a stuffed turkey. If I calculate what I’ve actually worn a lot after one season, most of the time max 10 pieces out of too many get an award. So sorry economy, I know you like me to spend too much but I’m going for a downsize.

How I solved this practical problem is by using my charms to be able to borrow clothes, luckily many of my friends work in fashion and they’re always willing to help 🙂 I do get a little present from time to time but besides the borrowed items there’s just one thing left to say “the clothes I’m wearing, I bought it”. So to dispel another misconception about blogging (at least in my case), I don’t get spoiled with free stuff every week.

I’m writing this because I don’t want anyone to get a wrong image and to think that it’s normal to have that amount of expensive clothing hanging in your closet. I’m totally passionate about styling and fashion but I never forget that there are other important things than shopping. So invest in a few keepers, buy a small selection of trendy pieces and be creative!
