When Ellen from Alpro asked me if I wanted to become Alpronista for a day and show them a few of my favorite food, coffee and deco spots in Antwerp, I didn’t hesitate for one tiny second. Even though I’m not the best cook in the world, I do like to eat, drink and by chance I do consume a lot of Alpro products since I can’t digest lactose very well.

First stop: my very own apartment where I made a “delicious” breakfast for Ellen and photographer Pieter. On the menu were a smoothie with almond milk, Albert Heijn pancakes (ok, can’t make those myself) and granola with soy yoghurt. Some say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I do I agree… If I would have more time I’d eat like this every morning but unfortunately a smoothie is all I can schedule (I’m just such a good sleeper in the morning, can’t help it).

What’s breakfast without coffee? After filling our tummies we rolled to Kolonel Koffie for a good old dose of caffeine. I must admit that I’m an addict and that I’m hanging there way too often. But I guess dealing with me is what happens when you open the most cosy coffee spot in town. Did I already mention I have my own stool at the bar? I actually just claimed it but I’m considering to have my name engraved just to make sure my territory is protected 😉

Spot n°3 on my to-visit list was Espoo… It’s my favorite deco / furniture shop even though I don’t go there that often since it’s in the danger zone (a.k.a. protect yourself from wanting to redecorate your entire apartment after every single visit and not being able to afford that) Seriously if I ever become rich I’ll buy everything they have but for now I’ll just stay with the Hay table that’s on my wish list.

Two hours after I ate that huge breakfast I was hungry again… It’s like I’m a vacuum cleaner with no filter! To get rid of my (f)hungriness we headed to Local Store for a healthy lunch. I actually had the lasagna which is isn’t the lowest calorie dish on the planet but at least it was veggie!

When you’re not really the supermarket kinda type, concepts like HNGRY are quite interesting! A few recipes are presented together with all the ingredients you need to make one fine meal at home. I actually do like to freewheel in the kitchen but only when it’s just me eating the food afterwards. When friends are coming over HNGRY is the safer choice 😉 You seriously want to avoid food poisoning if you ever want to see your beloved ones again!

Last but not least we took our bikes to Barnini for a coffee-to-go. If I wouldn’t have eaten an entire brunch and that veggie lasagna I’d also ordered one of their delicious bagels but hey, enough is enough!
