Not all women are so fond of high-rise jeans but I just love it. What’s more feminine than showing a bit of waist? Maybe it’s the fact that my look is quite boy’ish and I feel like I need to compensate in one way or another. But on the other hand I still wonder why nobody ever told me that the 90’s Britney very low waisted jeans wasn’t the best option for my body type. Seriously, I know it was trendy but I looked like a deformed pear!

And I didn’t just want to have any kind of high-rinse jeans, had something specific in my mind which apparently was hard to find. It needed to have buttons instead of a zipper and something between a straight and a skinny leg. High maintenance, me? After having tried mom, girlfriend, straight and just skinny I was ready to give up… Till I bumped into this vintage Levi’s 501 which has a completely different fit than the 501’s in store right now and believe me, I’ve tried those too 😉
